TWAA Softball




2004 was the first year of Wheelchair Softball for TWAA; having several practices with as many as 12 players
participating. With the help of former TWAA athlete Doyle Mann, who now lives in Tampa Fla,
the TWAA Softball players joined forces with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and played 2 tournaments,
Including the 2004 National Championships in Omaha Nebraska; where the Devil Rays finished 3rd in Division II.
With 1 season of experience and the challenge of growing the sport in middle Tennessee.
TWAA in planning to field a team again in 2005 and hoping to increace the number players,
and go to some tournaments as a TWAA team.
Practice will start in May. Dates and Practice site TBD.

Wheelchair Softball is played on a paved surface and uses a point system simlar to basketball.
